Farm Animal Clinician Opportunity at Paragon Veterinary Group
Paragon is seeking an experienced farm animal clinician to join their expanding team. As part of a four-centre multidisciplinary independent practice, the team includes 16 farm vets, many of whom hold certificates and diplomas.
Located in North Cumbria, the practice benefits from proximity to the Lake District National Park, offering ample opportunities to enjoy the area's natural beauty. The organisation promotes a healthy work-life balance, with a 1 in 7 out-of-hours rota, a standard 4.5-day working week, time in lieu for overtime (when not on call), and five weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays.
Paragon prides itself on being a friendly and supportive team with low staff turnover and a strong emphasis on job satisfaction. They work closely with progressive, proactive, and motivated clients, maintaining a strong dairy client base and servicing forward-thinking beef and sheep farms. The practice supports active flock health and calf health clubs and encourages clinicians to pursue specific areas of interest, offering a wide range of options.
The team is committed to delivering high standards of service through proactive health planning, utilising advanced tools and software. Additional services include abdominal laparoscopic surgery, VetTech services with an in-house foot trimmer, farmer training, and an advanced breeding department. They also provide overseas farm consultancy. Continuing professional development (CPD), specialist interests, and further qualifications are strongly encouraged and supported by certificate and diploma holders.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of farm animal clinical experience.

About Tyndale Vets
Located in the picturesque Gloucestershire countryside near Berkeley, Tyndale Vets is a proudly independent, farm-only veterinary practice. The team comprises 35 lively and supportive members, including 12 vets and 6 dedicated TB testers.
As active members of the XLVets community, Tyndale Vets also operates a cutting-edge bovine IVF and embryo transfer facility and serves as a teaching practice for veterinary students from both Bristol and Nottingham universities. About You
Tyndale Vets is seeking a proactive veterinary surgeon with a strong commitment to working with farms and farmers. The ideal candidate will value clinical freedom and be encouraged to pursue their own areas of interest, innovation is welcomed and supported within the team.
The role offers a diverse and engaging caseload, including dairy (cattle and goat), beef, sheep, camelids, deer, and smallholders. While a willingness to work across all these species is essential, the practice is committed to shaping the role around the individual’s particular strengths and interests.
A full-time position is preferred, with flexibility offered through either a 4.5-day week or a 9-day fortnight. However, alternative working arrangements can be discussed for the right candidate.
About the Role
Tyndale Vets offers a friendly and supportive team environment, with directors who are actively involved in both the clinical workload and the day-to-day running of the practice. Collaboration is central to the team’s approach, with vets working closely together and sharing advice, case discussions, and even traffic updates via an active WhatsApp group.
Regular clinical club meetings are held to encourage continuous learning, and CPD is both supported and funded. Many team members are currently working towards certificates, reflecting the practice’s commitment to professional development.
On-call duties are shared on a 1-in-5 rota, alternating between first and second on-call, with two vets available each evening and weekend to help manage the workload. There is always a colleague or director available for backup, ensuring support is never far away.
