A conference for all those interested in improving the efficiency and profitability of dairy goat and dairy sheep enterprises is to be held on 26-27th January 2016, at Congresbury, south-west of Bristol. With an international line-up of speakers, and topics ranging from specific health issues to economics and management, this event is relevant to producers, processors, vets and industry suppliers.
The conference has been organised by XLVets member Friars Moor Livestock Health, the farm animal division of Friars Moor Veterinary Clinic, based in Sturminster Newton, Dorset.
Conference speakers include: Dr Haim Lebovich an independent consultant from Israel who will discuss nutrition in the dry period and early lactation, as well as opportunities to improve production and profit through data recording; Margit Groenevelt from The Netherlands will review the latest developments in controlling lameness; Michael Millar from Bristol Vet School will discuss management of Johne’s disease, CLA, MV, and CAE; and veterinary consultant David Harwood will cover Clostridial diseases; Friars Moor vet David Aggett will talk on overcoming the challenges of artificially rearing lambs and kids.
The conference is to be held at the Doubletree by Hilton, Bristol South, BS49 5AD, starting at 2:30pm on Tuesday 26th January and finishing at lunchtime the next day.
